  Managing the Library

Managing the LibraryClick Here to view a tutorial on Managing the Library.

Most of your library's features come in most handy when you have a lot of videos, but even with only a few videos, this page might still show you some convenient things.

In your library, if you roll your mouse over the center of a thumbnail.   You should see Previewing pop-up in the top left.   In a second or two, you'll see the video start playing from the point when the thumbnail image was saved.   This might help you quickly figure out which video is which.   Click here to learn how to change the preview image and the start time.
Roll over a thumbnail to preview the video.

Select Multiple Videos

To select videos to send in emails or to change video settings, click once on its thumbnail.   To select multiple videos hold down either the SHIFT or CONTROL key on your keyboard, and click on more thumbnails.   Another way to select multiple videos is to create what's called a marquee.   This is very similar to a Windows or Mac file-browsing system.   Just click and hold on the white space around the thumbnails, then move the mouse around and you'll see a light blue box start to grow from that spot.   Whichever thumbnail the box touches will be selected.
Drag a marquee over thumbnails to select multiple videos.

There's also a few ways to de-select a thumbnail.   If you hold down the SHIFT or CONTROL buttons again and click on a selected thumbnail, then it loses focus and will no longer be selected.   You can also hold SHIFT or CONTROL while using the marquee to select or de-select multiple thumbnails at once.   Again, this is all very similar to your Windows or Mac file-browsing systems; so, if you haven‘t already, try this in other places on your computer.   It can be very helpful.

One thing you can do with multiple videos selected is put them all in an email.   Also, if you view the advanced settings, and click on the Settings and Information button, you'll open up multiple panels at once.   Incidentally, once these are open, you can click and drag them around the screen much like your computer's panel system.   They just can't go beyond the bounds of the library's white frame.  Go to Video Settings or Security Settings for more about these Settings & Information panels.
Open multiple settings panels and drag them around the screen

Arrange Thumbnails

There are also many different ways to view and arrange your thumbnails so that they're easier to view all at once.   First, the cursor marked Thumbnail Size will enlarge or shrink the thumbnails as you move it right and left.
Move the thumb size cursor to the right to enlarge thumbnails

Move the thumb size cursor to the left to shrink thumbnails

To the left of this cursor are two buttons labeled Thumbnail and List view.   If you click List view, you'll see the thumbnails shrink and the videos are listed vertically.   This is handy to better view the titles, and these smaller thumbnails work the same way as the larger thumbnails.   At the top right is a drop down box marked, Arrange by.   Choosing an option from this box will rearrange the videos in a few different orders, from Oldest to Newest, Newest to Oldest, Alphabetical Order, and Custom Order.
Click and drag thumbnails to rearrange their order.

The default order of the thumbnails is Custom Order.   This means that the thumbnails can be dragged around the library in what ever order you want.   Just click and drag a thumbnail around the library.   As you pass over other thumbnails, you'll notice that a black bar appears in the space between the stationary thumbnails.   This indicates the new position of the thumbnail if dropped.
Click and drag thumbnails to rearrange their order.

Black bar indicates where the video will locate.

Create Folders

You can also sort videos by creating your own folders.   Just click the Create Folder button, and a new folder will appear.   Then, a title panel will pop-up allowing you to give the folder your own title.   When done, click Save Changes.   To rename the folder later on, select the folder and click Information and Settings.
Click Create Folder to create and name a new folder.

To put videos into the folder, select the video or videos that you want to move, then click and drag them over the folder.   You should see the folder highlight in blue, then release the mouse button to drop in the videos.   Their thumbnails will then appear on the front of the folder.   You can open the folder by double-clicking on its thumbnail.   To get back to the main library page, just click on the icon at the top left of the window labeled, Main.
Drag thumbnail over folder and drop it in.

Drag onto Main to put thumbnail back into main library

If you made a mistake, or if you want to better organize the videos in the future, there are of few ways to move the videos back into the main library and/or into other folders.   There is a handy tool that, again, is very similar to your computer's file-browsing system.   Click the small silver tab to the left of the library window.   You'll see a panel slide open on the left while the main panel gets a little smaller.   This panel only lists folders and also has an icon at the top that says Main Library.   Clicking once on any of these icons will navigate the large panel to that location.  So to move a video from one folder to another, you can click and drag thumbnails onto the appropriate icon on the left.   So if you create a new folder, you can drag a thumbnail into it on the left.
Click silver tab on left to expand folder view window.

Delete Folders and Videos

One last feature is deleting.   You may find that all you ever want to delete is an empty folder.  To do this, just select a folder, and click the delete button.   You'll get an alert asking if you're sure.  Then, for good measure, you'll get another alert asking if you're really sure.   If you continue you'll get a success message.   If for some reason, you find your library being cluttered or maybe sent us the wrong video, you can also delete videos.   Beware however, that this permanently deletes the video from your library, and cannot be restored.
Click delete to delete selected folder or video.
