Playing VideosClick Here to view a tutorial on Playing Videos.

To play a video in your library, double-click on its icon, or, if you have been sent a link to a video, enter the link into your preferred Web Browser.   You should soon see a control panel appear near the bottom of the screen and the video should load and begin playing in the center of the screen.

If you receive a message about your flash player needing to be updated, consult Adobe by clicking here.

A timeline bar is located at the bottom of the control panel.   Clicking and holding the silver button in this bar will allow you to drag along the bar.   When you release the cursor, the video will begin playing from that timeline point.

You can also fast-forward or rewind through a video by clicking the double arrows on either side of the search bar.  Click the button again, to stop the fast-forward or rewind action.

Viewing Chapters

A video may also be marked by chapter points (only the owner of the video can create chapter points, click here for more info).  If the video does have chapters though, another button will be visible on the control panel that reads Chapters.   Click on the button to bring up a menu with 3 buttons.   Clicking Next Chapter or Previous Chapter will make the video jump immediately to the next or last chapter point.   Clicking on Chapter Menu brings up a list of all the video’s chapters.   Click on a chapter’s icon to start the video playing from that point.

The rest of the controls are marked with their functions.   Clicking on the Volume button displays a slider bar that controls the level of audio.

Changing Image Size

The Resize button also displays a slider that enlarges or shrinks the video image.   Clicking the Full Screen button will expand the player and video to fit your entire monitor.   To exit, just press ESC.   Please be aware though, that enlarging the video image can often result in reduced or poor quality playback.   Also, our player cannot override your computer’s screensaver; so, if you want to watch the video for an extended period of time, you may want to temporarily disable the screensaver to ensure uninterrupted playback.
Volume and Resize Control

By default, the control panel slides out of the way after a video plays for a few seconds.   Also, you can force the bar to hide at anytime by clicking on the video image.   To get the controls back into view, move the mouse around the screen, and the panel will quickly slide back into view.

You can prevent the control panel from hiding by clicking the Settings button.   A new panel will pop up in the top left corner of the screen.   This will allow you to make a few different adjustments.   You can keep the control panel from hiding by unchecking the box labeled Autohide Control Panel.   You can also customize how the player looks by checking or unchecking Show Video Titles and Show Loading Bar.   The last check box, labeled Loop Current Video, will make the video repeat when it reaches the end.

Also, at the top of the panel is a slider bar called Video Brightness.   Sliding the silver button to the left or right will make the video appear lighter or darker.

Once you have made your changes, click Save Changes, and these settings will stay the same for any UCanView.com video.
